Jamie Wood has been working with Europe’s technology industries for 25 years. Most recently he was a partner, co-head of research and a senior analyst at Odey Asset Management LLP, the long-short equity investment manager. Earlier, Jamie helped build a number of highly successful equity research teams at JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and Bank of Ireland. His sector experience includes both digital and traditional media, eCommerce, B2B marketplaces, internet technology, communications equipment, business services, and life sciences.
Based in London, Jamie has specialized in investment due diligence and the exit process. He has helped advise a number of European technology companies through IPO, and has managed or co-managed a number of large international equity portfolios, making several hundred fundamental-based investments in public and private equity markets, including venture capital.
Jamie graduated with a first class degree from Durham University in 1991 and recently completed a PhD at London University. His work has been widely published in leading peer-reviewed journals and he has taught and supervised students at both Birkbeck College and Oxford University. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant at the beginning of his career in 1994 before spending time in strategy and business development with the Walt Disney Company. He has served on a number of boards, including AIM-listed Circle Holdings plc, and is currently working with a number of entrepreneurs in the B2C and Fin-Tech industries to develop early-stage growth strategies.
