Lauren Dennis

Lauren is half way through a Chemistry undergraduate degree at Imperial College, London. Lauren was the only female finalist in the Faculty of Natural Sciences Make-A-Difference competition in 2015. Lauren and her team researched the development of an in-field, low-cost diagnostic tool for the detection of Rift Valley Fever in livestock in rural parts of Africa. As a finalist again in the Althea-Imperial programme, Lauren was able to develop a business plan for pursuing her research on Rift Valley Fever.

Lauren is currently completing a one-year internship at Imperial Create Lab where she works in a team to foster a culture of enterprise amongst Imperial College students, staff and alumni. She is also a President’s Ambassador and represents the College and conducts official campus tours with prospective students, alumni and VIP delegates.

Lauren is a classically trained soprano. She was a member of The National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and currently sings for The Bach Choir in London.
