Susan served as a Senior Associate lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, specializing in white collar criminal defense and investigations, developing expertise in technical and highly regulated industries and products including auction rate securities, foreign exchange trading and anti money-laundering regulations.
At Merian Ventures she assesses US and UK startups in the financial technology, regulatory technology and consumer products sectors. Her extensive network in New York contributes deal flow to the pipeline. As a member of the Investment Committee, she engages in due diligence, with a particular focus on legal and regulatory issues.
For ten years, Susan has formally and informally coached women at various stages in their careers and has worked closely with the founders of W.O.M.E.N. in America, a group dedicated to promoting women through mentorship, education and networking.
Susan graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School, where her thesis won the John A. Larkin Memorial Thesis Prize. She graduated from Harvard Law School.
